Who We Are Now:
LSPR is an organization that participates in service events throughout Columbia. We offer young women a way to get involved on campus, make friends and become part of a sisterhood that has been around the University community for years.
Service for the community is a priority, and most of our dues go toward those activities. We try to represent that we are a united sisterhood on campus, by providing young women with fun and exciting service opportunities for the community.
What We Do:
We provide many service opportunities around the community that include:
– Clean up Columbia
– Roots & Blues & BBQ Festival
– Humane Society of Central Missouri
– Relay for Life
– Komen Race for the Cure
– Philanthropy: benefit for the Dream Factory
We also provide social events so that the members can feel our unity and sisterhood:
– Corn Maze
– Semi Formal event
What it takes to be in the organization:
Yearly dues, which go towards social events, food at meetings, supplies, etc.:
-Active Members: $65
-New Members: $70
The rush process consists of attending an informational meeting, one social event, one service event, and a group interview. Once welcomed into the organization, the new members work closely with the new member educator to learn and memorize the creed, who the officers are, and other basic information about the organization.
